
Prof Hui Liu
Hui Liu is Director of the Institute of Medical Information and Library, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(CAMS) and Peking Union Medical College(PUMC), and Professor at CAMS and PUMC.
He also serves as Director of the Intelligent Medical Knowledge Engineering and Decision-Making Laboratory, Executive Director of the National Population Health Science Data Center, Deputy Director of the Humanities in Medicine Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health and Biomedical Information, and Vice President (Internal) of the Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors (2023–2025).
He is the Editor-in-Chief of China Medical Herald and Executive Editor-in-Chief of Informatics and Health.
His research interests focus on medical informatics and bioethics, with particular emphasis on medical knowledge intelligence, the integration of health big data mining and knowledge discovery technologies, data governance and the development of models and tools based on medical knowledge.
He leads the development of AiMed, an AI-powered large language model for medical knowledge applications. Meanwhile, as Chair of the National Committee for Intelligent Medical Engineering Education, he has also played a key role in advancing the development of textbooks for China’s first national undergraduate program in Intelligent Medical Engineering.
